Scrap Tapestry

For Christmas, I made my mom this decorative wall-hanging out of scrap yarn and odds and ends I had lying around. The main part of it was made with leftover wool from various pairs of felt clogs (there are always leftovers from those) which I felted, and then embellished it with whatever fun things were cluttering my craft drawer. It was so much fun to make! Today, it lives happily on her wall.

Felt Clogs

These are a huge hit in our family, I pretty much make them every year or two for everyone I know, since everyone loves them so much they wear them out in a year!

You can find the pattern here: Fiber Trends Pattern
(sorry you have to pay for it... copyrighted!)

Last year, for my dad who goes outside a lot, I took apart his ripped old slippers with an intact durable outdoor-friendly sole on them, and sewed that sole onto my felted clogs. Worked great, and he loves them! (see top picture)

I gave this journal a makeover with some fabric, embroidery thread, a neat button, and some yarn. This is essentially just a new fabric cover wrapped around an old, unused journal, cut to shape and sewn in place.
